Louise Redknapp pays tribute to Caroline Flack in heartfelt post

Louise Redknapp has remembered her “kindest, brightest friend” Caroline Flack in an emotional Instagram post following her death on Saturday.

The former Eternal star took to her social media page to share a picture of herself and the Love Island presenter pouting for the cameras, and broke her tribute down into sections as she paid tribute to her close pal.

“Caroline when things were tough for me and you were going through equally such a tough time you reached out to me and it was so nice to have someone that had been there and been through the same emotions and feelings as me even though different circumstances,” she began. “I always think it takes a certain soul to be able to reach out to someone who they don’t really know that well and speak from the heart but you did that for me and from that moment a close friendship was founded. I feel so proud that I was someone that you felt you could trust and that you could speak to at any time about anything.”

Touching on the difficult time Caroline had prior to her death, including being arrested for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton, Louise continued: “You didn’t deserve any of this what has happened. You were the kindest, brightest fun and sincere friend I’ve met in this industry. You turned up to every show I ever did coming back in to the industry you helped me believe I could go back and do something I never thought I could do again. Whether it was a little DJ set, a west-end show or a music gig you were there being the brightest loudest biggest loyalest supporter.”

Louise concluded her post by promising she will continue to “try and speak your messages, try and live by all the things that we spoke about and try to be your voice and be the best person I can be for you”.

Natalie Imbruglia also paid tribute to Caroline in a post of her own on Instagram over the weekend, sharing a snap of the 40-year-old presenter laughing while sitting in the front seat of a car, and writing: “I still can’t process what has happened. Caroline, such a shining light, always so friendly and kind. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family and to everyone feeling this terrible loss. #bekind.”

Following Caroline’s suicide, Love Island bosses decided to cancel Sunday night’s episode of the show. The programme will be returning on Monday and will include a special tribute to the late star.

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker says working with Lady Gaga taught him to be confident

The Tame Impala star – who is back with new album ‘The Slow Rush’ today (14.02.20) – has revealed he was inspired by just how “human” the ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker was when they were in the studio for her 2016 LP ‘Joanne’. Buy tickets below.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Kevin shared: “It was great being in the same room as her.

“Not just to witness the conviction she has for what she’s doing but also to see how human she is.

“It was inspiring because I realised you don’t need a superhuman level of confidence to still be confident in what you’re doing.”

He added: “I decided to be confident because I was wasting my time not being confident.

“I’ve seen people around me that have conviction and I realised conviction is so important in moving forward with music or art.

“Although it’s a strong word, I’m kind of repulsed by lack of conviction.”

The ‘Let It Happen’ musician also admitted that he’s always been scared of getting up on stage and performing in front of thousands of people, but having music he released with the pop superstar heard by millions of people is not terrifying at all.

He explained: “The idea of me making anything that’s experienced 400million times would be terrifying if it wasn’t music.

“I can’t imagine anything worse than getting up on stage in front of however many thousand people and just talking.”
Meanwhile, Kevin recently revealed that Travis Scott and getting stoned inspired ‘The Slow Rush’.

The 34-year-old star admitted he’s willing to try “anything” that will get his creative juices flowing, and so he purposely made himself “uncomfortable” by being stoned in public.

He said: “I’ll do anything that gets me inspired, anything that kind of gives me, that causes those lightning bolts.

“Even with this album, I was doing things that made me uncomfortable just for the purpose of being creative because I’m the most creative when I’m uncomfortable.

“I hate being stoned in public, so I’ll like get stoned and go to the shops [so] the start of one of the songs was from that.”

LeAnn Rimes launches new love songs initiative with Selena Gomez cover

LeAnn Rimes has launched a new weekly love songs initiative just in time for St. Valentine’s Day.

The singer plans to release a cover of one of her favourite love songs every Friday, and she has kicked off her LovE Songs series with a stripped-down rendition of Selena Gomez’s Lose You to Love Me, revealing she really connected to the song.

“Lose You to Love Me is such a beautifully written, honest portrayal of a woman putting her heart first and the drastic process in which one sometimes has to go through in order to heal from a broken heart,” Rimes tells Billboard. “It’s the kind of beautiful ballad you don’t hear very much in pop music anymore.”

Rimes is also planning to release her cover of a song “that had a big moment at the Grammys this year”, as well as one of her favourite Bon Iver songs.

“It’s basically a way to have fun with music,” Rimes adds. “Love is a big topic to cover, and not everyone is in a relationship with a lover, so we cover all bases, from falling in love to heartbreak.

“We keep it super simple, filming it in our house. My husband has an incredible eye, so we wrangle him in to film it all. Darrell Brown, my dear friend and creative partner, plays piano. We usually learn and arrange the song right before we film, so what you’re getting is very raw and real.”

Selena Gomez is ‘committed’ to her health journey

The ‘Rare’ singer has been making an effort to prioritise her health and wellbeing since taking a hiatus to seek treatment for her mental health in late 2018, and her personal trainer Luke Milton has now said Selena is “looking out for her health” both physically and mentally.

He said: “She looks amazing, she really does. She’s committed to it and she’s consistent. She’s looking out for her health, and that’s the big thing. I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about her.”

Luke, who is a former rugby player, founded Training Mate – the program Selena attends – in 2013, which is a 45-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that merges cardio with resistance exercises.

And whilst Selena, 27, was “quite nervous” when she first joined the program with best friend Courtney Lopez, Luke insists she’s “done really well” since.

He added to Us Weekly magazine: “We always want [her] to leave with a smile on her face because it builds results. The more people come, the more active they are, the better the results are.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Look At Her Now’ hitmaker recently said she was “relieved” when she received the diagnosis for her mental health, as it helped her find the right course of medication following years of ups and downs with her mood.
She said: “I had low self-esteem, and that’s something I work on continuously. But I feel so empowered because I’ve gained so much knowledge about what was going on mentally.

“My highs were really high, and my lows would take me out for weeks at a time.

“I found out I do suffer from mental health issues. And, honestly, that was such a relief.

“I realised that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust. I got on the right medication, and my life has been completely changed.”

Lady Gaga’s mum urges parents to learn how to help children through mental health struggles

Lady Gaga’s mum has pleaded with parents to learn how to recognise their kids are struggling with their mental health.

Cynthia Germanotta opened up about her daughter’s tough time in middle school during an interview on U.S. TV show Today’s web series Through Mom’s Eyes and described how severe bullying led to the Poker Face star’s battles with mental illness

“In middle school, because she was unique, she started experiencing a lot of struggles,” said Germanotta, who co-founded the Born This Way Foundation with the A Star Is Born actress in 2012 to support the mental and emotional wellness of young people.

“You know, feeling isolated from events. Humiliated. Taunted. And she would start to question herself and become doubtful of her own abilities. And that’s when she developed depression.”

However, while Cynthia and Gaga’s father, Joe, tried their best as parents to help, she confessed they “didn’t know everything” – meaning she didn’t realise the depths of the Just Dance star’s childhood depression.

“I felt where I made mistakes was I didn’t really know the warning signs to look for,” she confessed.

Cynthia added it was that lack of knowledge that inspired her and Lady Gaga to launch the organisation, which would help young people be “better equipped to deal with her struggles than she was.”

Jessica Simpson’s husband quit drinking to help her on journey to sobriety

Jessica Simpson’s husband Eric Johnson “gave up drinking” when the singer “hit rock bottom” amid her battle with alcohol and drugs.

The star has opened up on her struggle with addiction in her new memoir, Open Book, an excerpt of which appeared in People magazine, and when the 39-year-old embarked on her difficult journey to sobriety in 2017, Eric “gave up drinking the second (she) did” to support his wife.

“It was like no biggie (for him), and he hasn’t gone back or looked back,” Jessica wrote. “It’s just the way he is. He’s a very selfless and loving person who is the most incredible father on the planet.”

The With You singer married former football star Eric in 2014, and the couple shares daughters Maxwell, seven, and 10-month-old Birdie, and son Ace, six.

In previous snippets released via the publication, Jessica said she realised she’d hit rock bottom when she found herself drinking alcohol before Maxwell’s 7.30 am school assembly.

Revealing she’d “already had a drink” before heading to the ceremony, Jessica went on to recall how she “zoned out” later in the day when she was dressed up as Willie Nelson by her team for Halloween.

When asked if she wanted to get her children ready, the star realised she wasn’t able to.

“I was terrified of letting them see me in that shape,” Jessica wrote. “I am ashamed to say that I don’t know who got them into their costumes that night.”

Open Book hits shelves 4 February.

Metallica mourning late bassist Cliff Burton’s father

Metallica has paid tribute to Ray Burton, the father of late bassist Cliff Burton, who has died at the age of 94.

Cliff, who performed on the band’s first three studio albums; Kill ‘Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master Of Puppets, died at the age of 24 in a tour bus crash in Sweden while on the road with the band in 1986.

However, Ray continued to support the group, and joined them for their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2009.

On Sunday, Ray’s daughter Connie Burton announced that her father had passed away last Wednesday, and on Sunday, the rockers posted their own tribute online.

“It is with incredible sorrow that we said farewell to Cliff’s dad Ray Burton last week,” their post reads. “For 38 years, we were lucky enough to have the energy, wisdom and light of Ray in our lives. His eternal youth with his drive, positivity and relentless smile were both incredibly powerful and stirringly honest.”

Current members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo went on to explain how Ray had followed them on tour around the world.

“From coast to coast and overseas too, Ray’s beaming face would regularly greet us, offering warmth and anchor to our travels, and when it came to the entire Metallica family, band, crew and fans, he viewed us all as his own,” they added.

Stating that Ray wouldn’t want them to stay upset, they concluded: “So, in honour of him, and the kind of man he was, we also want to truly celebrate the 94 years of life Ray gave everyone, knowing in certainty that a glint of his light, wisdom, and energy will always be with us all wherever we go. We love you Ray, rest in peace.”

Morrissey is set to play two shows in the UK this March

The former Smiths frontman has announced concerts at Leeds First Direct Arena on March 6, and The SSE Arena, Wembley in London on March 14, in support of his upcoming 13th solo record, ‘I Am Not a Dog On a Chain’.

The European run also sees the musician perform at the Palladium Cologne on March 9, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris on March 11.

The new tour dates come after the Mancunian released new single ‘Bobby, Don’t You Think They Know’ from his upcoming follow-up to 2019’s ‘California Son’.

Morrissey recruited Grammy-winning Motown star Thelma Houston for the epic duet, who said: “One of the biggest joys for me in this business is getting the opportunity to collaborate with other top artists.

“I love the challenge to see if what I do can work with what they’re doing. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t.

“I think the blend of what Morrissey is singing and what I’m singing really works on ‘Bobby’.

“And it was a lot of fun working with M in the studio too!”

The ‘Mute Witness’ singer’s long-time producer, Joe Chicarelli, teased that the upcoming album, which is released via BMG on March 20, is “the boldest and most adventurous” record ever recorded by Morrissey.

He added: “I have now produced four studio albums for Morrissey.

“This is his boldest and most adventurous album yet.

“He has pushed the boundaries yet again – both musically and lyrically.

“And once again proving that as a songwriter and singer, he is in his own category. In truth, no one can be Morrissey but … Morrissey!”

The 60-year-old musician previously described the collection of tracks, recorded in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in France, as: “The very best of me … too good to be true … too true to be good.”

BMG are also re-issuing remasters of several Morrissey records.

The planned re-releases – ‘Southpaw Grammar’, ‘Maladjusted’, ‘You Are The Quarry’, ‘Ringleader of the Tormentors’, ‘Years of Refusal’ and ‘Live at the Hollywood Bowl’ – will all get updated artwork and sleeve notes.

Tickets for the UK gigs go on general sale on January 24 from 9am.

Chris Martin ‘doesn’t really understand’ Coldplay’s new songs

The 42-year-old singer and his bandmates have decided not to tour their latest album, ‘Everyday Life’, due to environmental concerns, and he’s also doing very little to promote the record as he doesn’t really know what to say. Buy tickets below.

He said: “We’re not touring and we’re not really talking and not doing anything normal.

“This album feels like we have to just release it into the world and let it fend for itself.

“Because a lot of these songs came from a place I don’t really understand, and other reasons too, it’s just not tourable yet.

“We’re trying to wait to tour until we can figure out the environmental side of things.”

The ‘Orphans’ hitmaker has deliberately avoided reading any of the reactions to either the record or the group’s decision not to tour.

He told the latest issue of Q magazine: “I stayed in a real cocoon cos I feel super-focused and super on a mission of some sort.

“This time I’m not even aware of any reaction or any result … nothing, cos I feel a very strong calling to be doing a certain thing.

“It’s always been there but maybe because the way the world is it’s been bubbling extra hard, extra-strong, like, ‘OK, this is what we’re supposed to be doing, let’s head this way.’ “

Although Chris admitted it can be tiring trying to avoid all outside comment, he insisted it is necessary in order to “get good” at his job.

Asked if it’s tiring, he said: “Yeah but that’s what I’m here for. “That’s what I’m on earth for.

“I’m definitely not an underwear model and it’s unlikely I’m going to have my own chain of cycling gyms.
“So I really would like to get good at this job.”

Chester Bennington’s widow sets ‘record straight’ about New Year’s wedding

Chester Bennington’s widow has attacked tabloid reporters for failing to “fact check” the date of her recent wedding, after she was accused of remarrying on her anniversary with the tragic rocker.

Talinda Bennington hit headlines over the weekend (04-05Jan20) after it was claimed she had tied the knot with firefighter Michael Fredman on 1 January (20) – the same day she had become Mrs. Bennington back in 2005.

However, she took to Instagram on Monday to clear up the reports after facing criticism from some of the Linkin Park frontman’s fans online.

Alongside a photo of the wedding programme, she wrote, “With joy and love I want to set something straight.

“ON JANUARY 4th, I wed a wonderful man, great friend, and son this weekend… The day we chose was a day of meaning, in many different ways.”

“My anniversary with my love, Chester, JAN 1 Was NOT THE DAYE (sic),” she continued. “Jan 1st will always be the day I married Chester. I would never paint over that beautiful day with anything else.”

Talinda then turned on the media for spreading lies with the inaccurate reports: “To all of the tabloids who printed a false story, inciting anger to me and my husband, who has upset lots of fans, and to create anger and pain, I ask you FOR WHAT?? (sic)” she added.

The 43 year old, who has three children with the late singer, also posted photos from the reception, which had been circulated in the press – clearly displaying the date of the celebration as 4 January.

“These awful tabloids need to fact check, actually check their own pictures in their articles…!!” she vented.

“Why lie though? To get attention. Well, they have our attention now and we see right through them.”

Bennington took his own life in July, 2017, and in September (19), Talinda revealed she had found love again as she shared the news of her engagement to Fredman.

“I am here to tell you that you can find love after tragedy,” she told fans.
